Rapport Announces New Business Unit in Defense, Intelligenceand Aerospace As a Part of Their Business Growth William M. Brooks has been named Sr. Vice President and General Manager
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – June 8, 2007 – Rapport Inc. the leader in a new green generation of massively parallel, reconfigurable chips and systems, announced today that they are creating a new business division as part of their company growth. The new division is focused on managing Rapport’s rapidly expanding business with the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security agencies including the aerospace sector. Additionally, William M. Brooks has been appointed as Sr. Vice President and General Manager of this newly formed Defense, Intelligence and Aerospace Division (DI&A). Mr. Brooks has over 30 years in the defense, intelligence, and aerospace business including systems and management experience with Lockheed Corporation, ArgoSystems/Boeing, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, Itek, and US intelligence agencies. The DIA business unit will be a key driver for commercial market success. ” William Brooks was a member of the original engineering team for the Trident Submarine at Lockheed, later becoming Manager of Communications Systems Engineering in the Space Systems Division where he managed development of satellite and airborne signals intelligence processing systems under contract with various US Intelligence agencies. Mr. Brooks worked at Argosystems/Boeing as Senior Program Manager of Advanced Technology Programs under contracts with US intelligence agencies. He managed system development contracts of new surveillance and communications systems for foreign military and intelligence organizations on behalf of various US Intelligence agencies. Mr. Brooks is a recognized expert in Management of Technology and teaches graduate courses in Program Management and Engineering Economics at University of California Santa Cruz, Santa Clara University, and Monterey Institute of International Studies.
